This year, I've been studying trees and one of the very common trees in Colorado is the Cottonwood.  They are wild looking, have very textured bark and are often found near water sources.  As I read more about Cottonwoods, one author noted that these giant trees are not desired for their wood like a Chestnut, Oak, or Elm.   However, they are fantastic for climbing.  This was the inspiration for the collage background of this piece.  Cottonwoods can remind us of childhood.  Climbing, swinging, laughing, imagining.  They might not be useful for furntinure making or lumber, but oh, if they allow us to live out our childhood, that's worth far more.

This piece is created on flat panel and will need a frame for display.
