Full disclosure. I'm not a morning person. I really wish I was. I keep trying. My husband laughs at me when my efforts resume with my confident proclamation of "Tomorrow, I'm going to get up early to get a jump start on the day." Sure. Yep. Just like yesterday, right?
I love my sleep and I'm not sure if that's going to change anytime soon.
However, I have noticed something that I really do want to change. I've been "sleeping" through my days. Rather than being fully awake, I've been distracted and future focused rather than present. My eyes are open, but the rest of me? Totally sleeping. Time to wake up! Time to start engaging and being present. Time to wake up.
I created this word illustration to help me remember to live with a soul, heart and mind that is awake and engaged. Not half asleep. I'm not going to give up my 8 hours, but I want to be fully awake for the other 16.
This 6" x 6" original artwork is created using paper collage, acrylic and colored pencil on hardboard panel. "Awake" is sealed with an acrylic varnish and comes framed in a simple black frame, wired and ready to display.
