Part of my residency was exploring color and what it does when approached non-literally.  I perched myself at the top of Academy Road and gazed down at fields in various stages of summer growth.  The heat and intense light of mid-day inspired the intense reds and hazy, rolling hills. While the process of capturing this moment in the high heat of the day was uncomfortable, the gift of this painting made it well worth it.
