My friend and I parked our cars and walked down to where her favorite cottonwood tree and fallen just a month or two ago. Whorly, massive and wild-looking, it lay on its side, stark white where the bark had dropped off, like a naked form asleep in the dried rabbit brush that circled it. It was one of those sad, but beautiful scenes where you remember that death is part of world we live in and it feels wrong. The stubborn hope of my heart desired to paint a different picture where a living tree was helping up the dead one. Perhaps it’s foolishness, but I don’t want to live without it.

All my original paintings are designed for unframed presentation, however, deep profile traditional frames and floater frames add a lovely touch if framing is important for your aesethic.
The paintings are all created using light-fast oil paints and sealed with Gamvar Varnish for protection. My recommendation is to keep your painting in a climate controlled environment, away from consistent, high intensity lighting, and dust-free with a microfiber cloth.
