Light has a way of highlighting things that wouldn’t normally draw my attention, but the way the light was illuminating this uprooted, tilting stump, growing a small forest on its backside, really got my attention. Beauty in the marred, uprooted, yet resilient and provisional remnants of a sturdy forest centennial. While it’s been changed in shape so that it no longer shelters with a crown of leaves that sing in the wind or a creaking trunk that provides stability and support to the surrounding trees, it still has a song to offer.

All my original paintings are designed for unframed presentation, however, deep profile traditional frames and floater frames add a lovely touch if framing is important for your aesethic.

The paintings are all created using light-fast oil paints and sealed with Gamvar Varnish for protection. My recommendation is to keep your painting in a climate controlled environment, away from consistent, high intensity lighting, and dust-free with a microfiber cloth.
