6x 6, original mixed media painting created with paper collage and oil paint on cradled panel.
On my parent’s land in central PA, there is a cabin that he and his relatives and friends built. Surrounding the cabin is a field of jagged rocks that are really fun to traverse as a kid, but a bit more scary when you start worrying more about breaking bones and twisting the ankles of middle-aged bodies. In between these rock clusters are beds of ferns. They remind me of little areas of refuge between unforgiving boulders that need to be worked around or balanced upon. The interesting thing is that I don’t want to step on them and smash the delicate fronds, but I do find that they help stabilize my foot placement and their presence helps break up the overwhelm of knowing where to place my foot on the next rock. They guide my steps at times and bring a sense of refuge even though I can’t shrink myself and rest beneath them. Their grace and peace extends beyond their green leaves and affects the whole landscape.

All my original paintings are designed for unframed presentation, however, deep profile traditional frames and floater frames add a lovely touch if framing is important for your aesethic.
The paintings are all created using light-fast oil paints and sealed with Gamvar Varnish for protection. My recommendation is to keep your painting in a climate controlled environment, away from consistent, high intensity lighting, and dust-free with a microfiber cloth.
If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, you may return your painting within 10 days for a full refund or within 30 days for an exchange of equal or lesser value. Exchange values an also be put toward a commissioned piece if so desired.
