Something that never ceases to grab my attention is the beauty of fallen trees becoming a garden bed for ferns and other forest floor dwellers.  Jagged, dried wood right next to luscious unfurling fronds as delicate as lace.  Perhaps the best picture of our reality with all its confounding and frustrating paradox.
