11 x 11 original mixed media painting created with paper collage and oil paint on panel and is float mounted on a 15 x 15 rustic frame.
When my dad handed me a rough map of the trails on the land he owns, I noticed that every single one of the trails, except the one that surrounds the border of the land, is what we call an “up and back. ” You walk the trail until you reach the dead end and then turn around. Up and back trails offer something completely different than a looping trail because you get to see the same landscape twice, but from different viewpoints. Like circling around a 3-dimensional work of art and experiencing the beauty from various angles. It’s surprising, delightful, and trains one’s eye to expect to never see something the same way twice. Perhaps I might need to practice more “up and back” trail walking in my relationships and common tasks that I do over and over again so I can see them in a new light.

All my original paintings are designed for unframed presentation, however, deep profile traditional frames and floater frames add a lovely touch if framing is important for your aesethic.
The paintings are all created using light-fast oil paints and sealed with Gamvar Varnish for protection. My recommendation is to keep your painting in a climate controlled environment, away from consistent, high intensity lighting, and dust-free with a microfiber cloth.
